“Yes, I will.”

Published June 9, 2014 by Shreya Rajvanshi

That warm night
Suddenly turned colder,
You removed your jacket
And placed it on my shoulders.

Your eyes were glowing
In the night so dark,
You held my hand
As we walked in the park.

You took a deep breath
And stopped midway,
I looked at you with confusion,
Wishing something you’d say.

And then you got down,
On one knee,
Took out a beautiful ring and asked,
“Will you marry me?”

Breathless, I walked towards you,
And said, “Yes, I will.”
I wore that ring and you kissed me,
As the time stood still.
