Downstairs, the phone came to life,
And she let out a
Long sigh of joy,
Sprinted down the steps
With grace, her anklets jingling,
Eyes crinkling, noises falling
On deaf ears. She felt
A rush of pink blush
On her puffed, white cheeks,
Due to the racing of a little
Part of her heart.
She finally picked up the receiver,
And breathed a soft, “Hello”
In the ears of her beloved,
Whose voice she longed to hear.
very warm, emotional poem, laced with the anticipation of the main character, nice!
Thank you!
Wonderful words – jingling, crinkling speak joy and lightness. I’m intrigued by “racing of a little part of her heart.”
You make me want to keep writing, you know.
Thank you!
That is one of the loveliest comments I’ve received. ❤ Being able to inspire you to keep writing is also a gift to me.
A writer needs inspirations and motivation, and that you provide them so selflessly is something I look up to. Really, I do.
Thank you.
