She was his parachute
When he was falling down,
Unconscious, unstable, lost.
A floater is what she became
When he reached the ocean,
Cold, shivering, lacking warmth.
She was disguised as his cave
When he reached the silent island,
Unsure, confused, scared.
She became his words
When he used to call the one above,
Slowly humming his prayers.
And when it was finally time to
Head back home,
He would look at
Her photograph,
Smiling right at him,
Gently, assuring, full of love,
And he helped her
Help him
Pave his own way
Back home.
