He didn’t want to,
But he had to,
Run away with someone’s lunch
To feed his own stomach,
To keep his blood pumping,
Heart beating.
He didn’t want to,
But he had to,
Wear someone else’s robe
To cover his own flesh,
Hide those marks,
Fade those scars.
He didn’t want to,
But he had to,
Hit the barrel and
Run away with the bag
To have somewhere to live,
To escape to,
And to call “home”.
He knew it was wrong,
He knew he was sinning,
But he still had to
Continue this chase
In order to
Survive.
You write very powerful poetry. Excellent.
Thank you! š
For the sake of survival there are but few sins to note
Such sins go against survival itself
And to breach those sins you void your right to life
Epic words as ever, congrats
Thank you so much! š
A strong message so beautifully written
