She moves
and silk flows in
Rippling waves,
Castanets clamoring for
Attention as the music
Stops short to let loose
A lone tune
Two petulant stomps knock
From the dusty wooden floor,
Then another and another
As the guitars join the harmony
With singing chords
And the tempo builds slowly,
The men clapping
As vodka spills noticeably
Down their sweaty shirts,
She bends her back
Spins her hip,
Challenging them to find another
Visage more perfect,
More alluring,
Wanting to sway away
With her
Into the night,
So she might
Twirl for them
One last time
Before her feet give up
And so does the moon.
